Its that time of year again - apple picking time. I probably say this every year, but oh, how I love fall! Love, love, love it. Somehow everything feels new in the fall. The cool mornings followed by pleasantly warm afternoons, the way everything smells just a little different. The break from the humidity. And of course, the apples. Almost as soon as we were out of the car the boys were off like a shot towards the trees.
And of course, he has a partner in snacking. Its funny, he looks slightly unimpressed in this picture, but really, thats just because his mouth is so full of apple and he is mid-chew. Not the most photogenic moment for anyone.
Now I'm only an amature photographer, and this was a challenging time of day to to take pictures. The sun was so bright and so low and there was so much variation between light and shade. As you can see from many of the photos, I didn't have much luck with lighting. And of course, I'm not working with the most directable models. They don't exactly stand still if you know what I mean. And there are no second chances. Oh, the shots I missed! But even though the light was tricky, it did do me a few favours. I mean, look at this kid's hair! Do you see why I can't bear to cut it. We were just at a store this morning and a kind lady whom the Baby was befriending mentioned what a "little sweetheart she is". Yeah, he's getting called a girl a lot lately. But I don't care at all, and neither does he. I'm not cutting this sweet silky gold until I'm good and ready. Seriously though, can you blame me?
And here's GranGran and her best pal. Of course, I set up a nice picture that included the Little Dude and Grandpapa too, but those shots are a mess because the Little Dude was having none of it. But as long as the Baby had his apple and his sunglasses he was happy to sit by GranGran's side and smile. I think they make quite a glamorous pair.
