If I ever have another kid, I want a home birth. I love that they continued to take care of you after the birth. I had a midwife when I had wingnut but delivered in the hospital. That midwife wanted nothing to do with us after the birth though. I had issues and she just said that I needed to make an appointment with my normal doctor. I will defiantly look into ones more like your midwives next time.

Sorry sis, I'm gonna hafta nitpick on one thing with you...

You lose no more body heat through your head than any other part of your body. If you completely cover your head and leave your feet uncovered, you'll lose the same amount from your feet as you would from your head. The only reason the whole "you lose more heat through your head" thing keeps going is because a: our head has more nerves so it's more sensitive and b: we have to keep at least part of our head uncovered to utilize most of our senses, so if we're going to lose any body heat, that's most likely where we'll lose it from.

Well, Lemurboy, I stand corrected. And now I'm going to running around outside without a hat.
