You are going to be seeing a lot of posts like this in the near future. Lots of natural lighting, playing outdoors, baby hands touching new textures and mama's trying to keep them from eating dirt. I hope you don't get bored. Because its going to be a long time before I get tired of pictures like this.
My Mom and Dad had been away for a week, spring-breaking with my sister and her kids, and when they got back and came over for a visit, we could think of no better plan than to go out for a walk. By the way, that adorable look on the Baby's face in the picture above has to do with spotting Grandpapa and Daddy coming out of the forest, (where they'd been looking in on the Sugar Maples) to meet us.
Grandpapa had cut himself a giant bunch of pussy willows...
...and the Baby was eager to learn more about them.
All I have to say about this photo is "seriously, Home Depot pail, you just had to sneak in there an ruin my perfect shot? Curses to your orange and white ghastliness!"
The Baby finally got his own little pussy willow branch, which from all the squealing he seemed to think was quite delightful. Though it was no small effort to convince him it was not intended as a soft furry snack.
The Little Dude meanwhile was happily occupied with his favourite in the forest game, namely 'chucking handfuls of crap in the creek'.
And then watching that crap float away.
Also, there were cat tails to whack against the edge of the bridge, sending their furry little detritus floating everywhere through the air and into our hair and mouths and all over our clothes (thanks for showing him how to do that Grandpapa...).
But no need to worry for his safety. GranGran was on the scene with her watchful eye and quick hands, so no one can even think about getting the chance to fall of that bridge on her watch.
Eventually we had to start thinking about getting dinner started, so prizes clutched firmly in hand, we headed back through the woods to our home.
Though we had to stop and sit on the big rock for just a moment.
And then back into the yard, where L.D. is happily indulging his passion for gardening again, now that the weather is warm. And 'Gardening', by his definition is digging. Digging holes and more holes, with spoons or shovels or just his bare hands. Oh how he loves to 'garden'.
just keep right on posting those sweet pics :)
