Look at this!
This rather boring picture may not look like much, but its exciting for me because what I see in this picture is not just brown grass and a lawn that badly needs raking. Nope, I see sunshine and a stiff breeze meaning: I could hang my laundry outside today! It was +11, and there was a nice wind, and I'd just done a load of towels, so really, it was perfect. I'd forgotton how much I like to hang laundry outside. I was only out there for a few minutes, but its always such a nice excuse to get outside. I don't know about you, but I often forget to get out of the house. I have so much to do inside, there is always a list (that feels like it never gets finished) so its really nice to have a reason to go outside. The birds were singing and the trees were swaying and a beautiful black crow scalloped his way across the valley in the most leisurely fashion. I know I'm projecting here, but I think he was probably enjoying the nice weather too. Anyhow, it just makes me feel like spring is really here to stay! Oh, and at the end of the day I had to run out there like a crazy lady and yank them off the line because it started to rain. But I can't complain, at least it wasn't snow.
And on a seperate note, look who else likes Lego:
This sweet little guy! You can't quite see what he's up to in the picture, so let me show you another one.
See? He made himself a necklace! Out of Lego! It was so cute, he was happily around the corner, quietly playing while I was making lunch, and a few minute later he busy's up to me, stops short and proudly points to his chest. "Necklace!" he says, clear as can be.
Here he is, demonstarting how it snaps apart. It is actually a little pulley part that came with an old set from my childhood (or my brother's, don't be mad Unca Peegee) so it is a little handle crank dealy with a thick thread wound through it that can be attached and tied to other things. Basically, he clamped the end of the string between two lego bricks and then attached those two bricks to the base of the pulley where the thread started, like this:
Et voila! A necklace. (And don't worry GranGran and Oma, I did not leave him alone with this mildly hazerdous toy after this. He enjoyed his necklace under my watchful eye, and then it got disassembled and put away someplace safe.
We're pretty busy on the homefront, yet I do so enjoy a peek into your lives.
YAY for laundry outside!! And cute boys! :)
