You know it before it happens. People tell you, "you're just not going to get as much done once you have kids." And you know it rationally, but in your heart, you just believe that maybe they are not trying as hard as they could be. You'll do things differently, you tell yourself. I mean, how much work can one or two little kids be?
Yeah, I think this picture pretty much sums it up. Poor Hubs trying valiently to make meatballs, whilst a small person literally clings to his ankles.

Yeah, are you sensing a pattern. This is a different day, but as you can see from the light in the kitchen, its at the same time of day: approximately 5:30 in the afternoon. Really, this is the Baby's preferred hang out during the dinner prep hour. Right. Under. Your. Feet. Hunkered down there with his favourite buddy (Floppy Dog, aka "Flobby") and a snack. On possibly the dirtiest square foot of kitchen floor (second only to the spot behind the garbage can) and right on top of one's socks.
