So far, I kind of hate this November. It is so grey, and wet and cold. I mean, I can handle any of those things in sets of two, but all three together is the worst. Like for example if it was just grey and wet, but not cold, that would be bearable. Or if it was cold and wet, but at least sunny, well no problem. But it is the trifecta of November weather nastiness that is bumming me out. There is not enough tea and chocolate in the world for a November like this!
Luckily, the Little Guy knows what to do with a rainy day. Yep, you make yourself a Rainy Day Reading Nest. Step 1: Get your favourite quilts and blankets and pillows. Step 2: Surround yourself with all your favourite stuffies. You must be completely hemmed in on either side by cuddly, furry creatures. Get your mom to help you do this if you can't manage it yourself.
Step 3: Look through the new library books for an intriguing volume. Comic books, graphic novels, picture books; these are all good choices.
Step 4: Simply hunker down and read. Check periodically to make sure that all your best "buddies" are still close by. Keep reading until all the new library books have been thoroughly perused.
Step 5: Try to ignore your mom, as she will definitely be lurking around a corner to take pictures of you. Honestly, its like she's never seen a Book Reading Nest before! Ask her to make herself useful by putting on a kettle and rustling up some of that Hallowe'en chocolate that she's surely hidden away. Then you can have stories and tea!
And there you have it. The plan for surviving November. He may only be three, but he comes up with some very good ideas.
